#NFB75in75 has officially begun

On your mark, get set, GO!  The race is on for members of the National Federation of the Blind across the United states as we diligently work to build 75 new chapters and strengthen 75 existing chapters across the United States.  Our dynamic and engaging 75 Days of Action  already begun.  On August 23, the Bay Area Chapters of the National Federation of the Blind of California (NFBC) partnered with the San Francisco Lighthouse for the Blind held a Discover You seminar with over 96 participants.  In Colorado we have begun sprint by strengthening our Pueblo chapter.  Omaha has targeted a date for a chapter strengthening event, Puerto Rico is fired up, and many others are moving and shaking to get the job done!

Last week MagniSight, a business owned by our Colorado Springs Vice President Brian Smith, Jim Beal long time member of our Colorado Springs Chapter and Pueblo native, and other members of the National Federation of the Blind of Colorado worked a booth at the Colorado State Fair to meet blind people in and around the Pueblo area.  We will spend the next two weeks making phone calls, sending fliers, and encouraging people to attend our Pueblo Chapter meeting on September 13.  During this meeting, MagniSight will show their latest and greatest in CCTV technology and we will have some dynamic and exciting discussion of the NFB!  After our work to strengthen the Pueblo chapter, NFBCO plans to start a new chapter as well as a Sports and Recreation Division and a Diabetic Action Network division.

The NFB of Colorado has been an integral part of the National Campaign.  Kevan Worley, CEO of Worley Enterprises and NFBCO board member is our committee chair.  Scott LaBarre, President of the National Federation of the Blind of Colorado and Jessica Beecham NFBCO Chapter and Community Development Coordinator are both 75 days of action sub committee members.  The NFB of Colorado, NFB of  Texas, the Jernigan Institute, and the Colorado Center for the Blind worked together to create the Spirit of 75 Video to highlight our work in the 75 days of Action campaign.  Check out the video and see what you think!

Today, on the kickoff of the 75 days of Action campaign we have released a new challenge!  We challenge our members to create short videos for social media to highlight the 75 days of action campaign, tell how they plan to get involved, and challenge others to get involved as well!  Lets see your video!

Check out videos from Kevan Worley and Jessica Beecham.  Post your videos on Facebook or emai your videos or written challenges to 75days@nfb.org

All right NFBCO LETS GO BUILD THE FEDERATION!
