It's not too
late for families to participate! This is one of our favorite holiday happenings
for the kiddos.
Auraria West Pioneers Annual
Accessible Easter Egg Hunt
From Chaz Davis, Director of Youth Services
The Annual free Easter Egg Hunt for
blind/low-vision children and their siblings sponsored by the Auraria Council
of the Legacy West Pioneers will be held on April 12, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at the
Colorado Center For The Blind.
The Colorado Center for the Blind is
located at 2233 W Shepperd Ave. in Littleton, CO.
We will hold a combined hunt this
year!!! Easter Eggs with electronic sound devices will be hidden in an area of
the Center lawn to be discovered by blind/low-vision children under the age of
18. Talking signs will be provided to add joy and ease to the event. Easter
Eggs will also be hidden for the sighted siblings. Instructions will be
provided so the sighted children don’t hunt for the beeping eggs.
Additional activities include Easter
basket assembling, Golden Egg treasure hunt, face painting, picture taking,
games designed to be accessible for blind/low-vision children, and a free lunch
will be provided for the participants and their families.
Every child under 18 years old will
assemble an Easter basket to take home.
Auraria will host a T-Ball/Beep ball
game to be played by blind/low-vision children between the ages of 13 and 18.
We will have several items available for purchase: the Beep Baseball for
$40.00, single ball charger for $9.00, and the beeping Easter Egg for $9.00 w/o
battery. Cash or checks only please!
